Community rules

Never post these

• Your code or your recovery key. Not in full and not in part. Nobody in the community can open your library with it, and we never ask for it.
• Anything from your library. Do not describe or copy the items, file names or album names you keep in York Vault.
• Personal data. No names, email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, account names or order numbers. Not yours, and not another person's.

If a post has any of these, a moderator rejects or removes it. If you posted one by mistake, write to privacy@yorkvault.com with the link, and we remove it.

Support questions go to support

If York Vault does not open, if you forgot your code, or if you have a question about your plan or a payment, contact support. A person reads every message and replies within 1 business day. Other people in the community cannot see your library, your plan or your purchases, so they cannot fix these problems.

How-to questions are welcome in Questions. The help center may already have the answer.

How moderation works

• Every new thread and every reply waits for a moderator. It does not show until a moderator approves it.
• A moderator does not edit posts. A moderator approves, rejects or removes a post as you wrote it.
• Every public post has a Report button. After 3 reports, a post leaves the public pages and goes back to a moderator. The moderator approves it again or removes it.
• We delete rejected and removed posts 30 days after the decision. What we store.

What gets removed

• Codes, recovery keys, library content and personal data, as above.
• Spam, ads, and links to other apps, downloads or services.
• Abuse, harassment, threats and hate.
• Content that is illegal, or that sexualizes anyone.
• Instructions to open another person's phone, library or account.
• Display names or posts that pretend to come from York Vault or its staff.
• Posts that are not about York Vault.

Display names

You do not need an account. Type any display name, or leave the field empty to post as Anonymous. Do not use your full real name. Names that look like York Vault staff, such as "York Vault", "Moderator" or "Support", are not accepted.

Text only

Posts are plain text. You cannot add images or files. Links and HTML show as text, and readers cannot click them. Titles are 8 to 120 characters. A thread is 20 to 5,000 characters, and a reply is 2 to 3,000 characters.

Votes on feature requests

You can vote once for each feature request in each browser. The vote count shows how many people want a feature. It does not commit us to build a feature, or to a date.

Ask us to remove a post

The community has no accounts, so we cannot confirm who wrote a post. Write to privacy@yorkvault.com with the link to the post. We remove a post with personal data when anyone asks. For other requests, we check the post against these rules.
